Job Description

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Lab (CSSL), the Manager - CSSL position is responsible for managing staff, daily operations, and administration of the CSSL along with planning budgets and resources. This position supports in the planning, development, and implementation of undergraduate and graduate medical education and research activities using simulation, by ensuring that the necessary resources are available and appropriately managed.
Job Responsibilities
Trains, develops and manages staff to carry out CSSL operations.
Ensures that CSSL is appropriately staffed in order to accommodate various activities and extend hours of operation as necessary.
Approves all CSSL expenses including but not limited to monthly SP invoice prior to submission to budget holder, and coordinates with divisional leadership for budget planning and maintenance.
Establishes policy/procedure guidelines and standard operating procedures for the CSSL ensuring that programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements in Qatar.
Establishes policy/procedure guidelines and standard operating procedures for the CSSL ensuring that programs comply with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and other simulation center accreditation requirements.
Oversees maintenance of CSSL facilities and equipment. Perform regular facilities checks and ensure that deficiencies are reported and followed up with as necessary.
Reviews, evaluates, and works with ITS to maintain and upgrade system as necessary for optimal performance.
Oversees the purchasing of supplies and equipment and maintenance of inventory.
Oversees and provides hands-on support as needed for all aspects of the Standardized Patient and high-fidelity simulation program including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and training of SPs, students, and faculty.
Oversees and provides hands-on support as needed for all aspects of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
Works with faculty and other departments to schedule events and oversees the timely and accurate preparation for all CSSL activities with attention to health and safety protocol.
Utilizes SP/Simulation learning management system (LMS) for management of SPs, students, faculty, case information, checklists, and student data.
Oversees and provides hands-on support, as needed, for generating learner performance data and dissemination of results to learners and faculty as appropriate.
Participates in the collection and analysis of performance data and work with faculty and the Office of Education Development to maintain longitudinal tracking of student OSCE performance and efficacy and reliability of simulation-based assessments.
Supports leadership, various division heads and affiliate institutions in the strategic planning, development, and implementation of undergraduate and graduate medical education using SP methodology and hybrid simulation.
Supports faculty in simulation-related research.
Performs other related and similar tasks as directed.

Bachelor's Degree
Experience
Bachelors Degree (Masters Degree preferred) in any discipline (preferably health or allied sciences). 
Masters Degree preferred, in any discipline (preferably health or allied sciences).
5+ years of relevant experience with direct management of staff and operations required.
Certification in simulation-based practice required (CHSOS, CHSE, or equivalent) highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in SP and technology-enhanced methodology.
Well versed with simulation management system (Knowledge of CAE LearningSpace preferred).
Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Aptitude for training and/or teaching with superior presentation, time management and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Ability to develop and initiate creative solutions to problems.
Adaptability, flexibility to react positively to new developments in work environment.
Ability to work independently on self-managed tasks as well as part of a team to reach projected goals and deadlines.
Advanced skills in multi-tasking complex projects and following through to accurate completion.
Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite.
